BREAKING: Ruto Waives PAYE for Salaries Below KSh 30,000, Cuts Tax for Earners Up to KSh 50,000

President William Ruto has announced a major relief for low- and middle-income earners, declaring that Kenyans earning a monthly salary of KSh 30,000 or less will no longer pay Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax. The move is aimed at easing financial pressure on households struggling with the rising cost of living.

In the announcement, captured on video, the President also revealed that employees earning up to KSh 50,000 per month will see their PAYE rate reduced from 30 percent to 25 percent. This adjustment is expected to leave more money in the pockets of workers.

President Ruto said the decision is part of the government’s plan to empower ordinary Kenyans, boost disposable income, and stimulate grassroots economic activity. He emphasized that the measures are intended to protect low-income earners and provide relief to families facing financial challenges.

The announcement has already sparked widespread discussion across the country, with many welcoming the policy as a timely intervention.

If implemented, it is expected to positively impact thousands of workers by improving take-home pay and easing economic burdens. View_more....
