Breaking News: Details Emerge on Plan to Extend Presidential Term to 7 Years, Ruto Could Rule Until 2032

Reports are now emerging claiming that Members of Parliament may soon table a proposal to extend the presidential term limit from five years to seven years. If this plan goes through, President William Ruto could remain in office until the year 2032.

According to reports circulating online, a high-level meeting involving Members of Parliament and Cabinet Secretaries is expected to take place.

The main agenda of the meeting is said to be the discussion of possible changes to the Constitution. The proposed change would increase the presidential term from the current five years to seven years.

Sources claim that leaders supporting the move believe the extension would give President Ruto enough time to fully implement his development projects and fulfill the promises he made to Kenyans during the 2022 General Election.

They argue that some projects require more time to be completed and that a longer term would ensure stability and continuity in leadership.

It has also been reported that UDA Members of Parliament have allegedly mentioned a possible date when the proposed amendment could be introduced in Parliament.

However, there has been no official communication from State House or Parliament confirming these claims.

In Kenya, any change to the Constitution follows a strict legal process. It requires approval by Parliament, and in some cases, it may also require a national referendum where Kenyans vote on the proposal.

At the moment, Kenyans are waiting for official clarification to confirm whether this proposal is real or just speculation. More details are expected as the situation develops.
