Asenath Rotich Returns to Social Media Two Years After Husband’s Death

Asenath Rotich, widow of the late marathon star Kelvin Kiptum, has made a quiet return to social media, sharing a short video of herself enjoying an outing with friends. This marks her first clear post since stepping back from online platforms amid public family disputes following her husband’s tragic death in 2024.

In the clip, Asenath is seen smiling and seated in a restaurant with companions, signaling a rare moment of normalcy as she navigates life as a single parent. Prior to her hiatus, she often shared videos of her two children and daily routines, earning praise for her care and dedication.

Tensions with Kiptum’s parents have been public. During the recent second death anniversary, Kelvin’s father spoke about ongoing financial struggles, including incomplete gravesite work and difficulties paying school fees for his grandchildren.

The family also claimed Asenath had moved to Nairobi and limited contact between the children and grandparents.

The disputes, which surfaced in 2025, led Asenath to delete many posts on TikTok and maintain a low profile online.

Her recent Instagram story shows her enjoying time with friends but does not clarify if family relations or financial issues have been resolved.

Despite lingering questions, many followers welcomed seeing Asenath smile again, expressing sympathy for someone coping with loss while raising children alone.

Public reactions ranged from supportive messages praising her right to moments of companionship to curiosity about her ongoing family challenges.
