As reported by one of the reliable sources on social media, Meshack Ojwang, the father of the late teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang, has shared why he believes Kenyans should reelect President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
Ojwang made the emotional statement while speaking about the difficult time his family went through after losing his son.
According to Meshack Ojwang, his son was allegedly forcefully taken from their home before later dying inside a central police station under unclear circumstances.
He said that during that painful moment, President William Ruto stood with him and his family. Ojwang claimed that the president helped by paying all burial expenses and also gave him some money to help him survive after the loss of his son.
He explained that the support he received from the president touched his heart deeply. Ojwang said that many leaders promised help but never showed up, while President Ruto allegedly acted without hesitation.
Because of this, he believes Ruto is a leader who supports people in need, especially during hard times.
Ojwang added that for this reason alone, President Ruto deserves a second term in office. He said that when the next election comes, he will be the first person to vote for him.
He also urged other Kenyans to consider reelecting the president, saying leadership should be judged by actions and not words.
However, his remarks sparked mixed reactions online. Many Kenyans on social media questioned why he would support a government that they claim failed to deliver justice following the death of his son at a police station.
Some users argued that support should not replace accountability, especially in cases involving alleged police brutality.
The debate continues to grow, with Kenyans divided over compassion, justice, and leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
