Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has raised alarm over his health after an incident that took place in Nyeri. In a statement he made shortly after being teargassed inside a church, Gachagua claimed that his life is at risk.
He said the incident affected him badly and forced him to seek urgent medical attention.
According to him, what happened was not normal and left him feeling weak and unwell.
In another statement, Gachagua alleged that he was poisoned using chemical substances. He claimed that the people behind the act were professionals who released the chemicals into the air near him.
He said that when he inhaled the substances, they interfered with his vocal cords and breathing system. This, he explained, is what caused him to experience serious breathing difficulties and problems with his voice.
Gachagua further revealed that he is currently admitted in hospital, where doctors are closely monitoring his condition. He said he is still unsure how his health will be in the coming days.
He also called on security agencies and health officials to investigate the incident and find out the truth. So far, no official report has confirmed the allegations, and Kenyans are waiting for more updates on his condition and the situation surrounding the incident.
