Gladys Wanga Fires Back at Wetang’ula Over Remarks on ODM’s Future

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has come out strongly to defend the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula made remarks questioning the party’s stability.

Wanga dismissed Wetang’ula’s comments as misleading and misplaced, insisting that ODM does not need guidance from leaders whose political parties are struggling to stay relevant.

She advised the Speaker to concentrate on rebuilding Ford Kenya instead of commenting on the internal affairs of other parties.

According to the governor, ODM remains one of the most structured and popular political movements in the country. She pointed out that the party has continued to enjoy massive grassroots support across Kenya, even as political alliances and leadership dynamics shift over time.

Wanga further explained that open discussions and internal debates are a normal part of any democratic organisation.

She argued that such conversations should not be exaggerated or turned into political attacks, noting that they are essential in strengthening party unity and preparing for future elections.

She maintained that ODM is focused, organised, and firmly on course, adding that occasional disagreements only help sharpen the party’s vision and direction.

As political exchanges continue, many Kenyans will be watching closely to see how the situation unfolds.
