Embu Governor Warns Rigathi Gachagua of Bigger Political Setbacks Ahead

Things are looking increasingly challenging for former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, as Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has predicted more political embarrassments for him in the upcoming elections, surpassing those he experienced in Mbeere North late last year.

Speaking during the submission of Nation Papers to the IEBC offices, Governor Mbarire emphasized that Embu County is firmly UDA and fully supportive of President William Ruto’s administration.

“Embu ni UDA na Gachagua hawezi pata kitu hapa. Yenye ile madharau alipata pale Mbeere North ni kidogo sana. Yeye heri arudi kwa chama au aone chenye hajaona kwa siasa,” Mbarire stated.

She further criticized Gachagua’s leadership, citing recent defections from his DCP party as proof of his inability to inspire loyalty.

“Wewe si kiongozi. Watu wanakutoroka kwa chama karibu wote. Jifunze kuwa kiongozi,” the vocal lawmaker said, urging him to learn from the ongoing party defections.

Her remarks come shortly after mass defections from the DCP, signaling growing dissatisfaction within the party ranks and weakening Gachagua’s political standing.

Mbarire’s strong statement underscores the UDA dominance in Embu County and highlights the challenges facing opposition leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
