On Thursday, senior lawyer Paul Muite strongly criticized the government over the ongoing issues surrounding the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Speaking publicly, Muite accused the government of misleading Kenyans by claiming that SHA is working well. According to him, the system is failing, and many citizens are unable to access proper medical services as promised.
The lawyer raised serious concerns about the management of funds allocated to SHA. He alleged that billions of shillings meant for the health authority may have been stolen.
Muite stated that Kenyans deserve to know the truth about what happened to the money that was supposed to improve healthcare across the country.
Muite went further to say that the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Aden Duale, must be held accountable.
He explained that as the head of the ministry, CS Duale has a responsibility to explain how the funds were used. If he fails to give a clear explanation, then he should be treated as a suspect.
The outspoken lawyer also called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to act quickly. He urged the DCI to arrest CS Duale and question him so that Kenyans can know who stole the alleged SHA money.
According to Muite, no leader should be protected when public funds are involved, and justice must be served.
