A shocking revelation from Nairobi has sparked debate after a woman accused her husband, a self-proclaimed pastor, of staging fake miracles and misleading church members before their short-lived marriage came to an end.
Agnes Njiru, a nurse and single mother, narrated that she met the pastor through Facebook, and within weeks, they decided to get married.
However, their marriage barely lasted a month after she discovered unsettling truths about her new husband.
According to Njiru, the man had introduced himself as a widower from Ruiru and a father of three, claiming he was ready to start a new life.
After confirming his background through her uncle, Njiru believed she had found a trustworthy partner — but her happiness was short-lived.
Soon after the wedding, the pastor’s true character began to surface. Njiru says he turned emotionally abusive, constantly belittling her and comparing her to other women.
She later uncovered that her husband had been performing fake miracles to deceive unsuspecting believers. When she confronted him, he allegedly asked her to lie and defend his actions in public.
Njiru also revealed that he took full control of their finances, pocketing wedding contributions and refusing to take care of their household needs.
Things worsened when he stopped her from going to church or discussing their marital issues with church elders.
Feeling trapped and disrespected, Njiru decided to end the marriage just a month after their union. She later learned that the pastor had gone as far as accusing her of bigamy in an attempt to destroy her reputation.
Njiru now cautions other women to be vigilant when dating online and to avoid rushing into marriage, especially with people they barely know.
Her story serves as a powerful warning about fake pastors and deceitful relationships that often end in heartbreak.
