"Anafunza Kama Nani?" Drama in Nairobi as MCA Robert Alai Threatens to Sue MP Babu Owino Over KCSE Online Classes

Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly, Honorable Robert Alai, has threatened to take Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Honorable Babu Owino, to court for teaching online classes amid ongoing national exams in Kenya.

MP Babu has been offering Maths lessons on his social media platforms to assist students preparing for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

The gesture has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some praising his initiative while others questioned its appropriateness.

MCA Robert Alai threatened legal action, claiming that teaching online classes is not part of MP Babu’s official duties. However, not everyone agreed with Alai’s position.

Kenyan comedian Mammito urged MP Babu to call on the government to pay teachers for doing what he is currently doing for free.

Meanwhile, Jubilee Digital Communications Strategist Pauline Njoroge criticized MCA Alai, asking what was wrong with MP Babu’s actions. She further endorsed Babu as her preferred candidate for the Nairobi gubernatorial bid in 2027.
