Photos have emerged of a Meru high school teacher and businesswoman who tragically lost her life after a freak accident at a salon.

Reports indicate that Irene Kui G passed away after being fatally struck while visiting a salon in Maua Town near Equity Bank. The tragedy has left the local community stunned and raised serious concerns about construction site safety.

Irene had visited the salon to have her hair braided when the incident occurred. What began as a routine appointment turned into a deadly accident.

During her session, a stone reportedly fell from a nearby building under construction. It crashed through the roof of the salon and struck her.

The mother of three suffered severe injuries, including critical damage to her skull and spine.

The incident is said to have happened on Sunday, when a large stone fell from the fourth floor of the building under construction. It pierced the salon’s roof and ceiling before hitting her.

She was rushed to intensive care, where doctors fought to save her life, but she later succumbed to her injuries.

Her death has left her husband, three children, parents, and extended family in deep grief.

A relative said another person injured in the same incident has not yet received treatment, adding that no arrests have been made and calling for justice.

Residents are now urging authorities to enforce strict safety regulations at construction sites to prevent similar tragedies in the future, as the family prepares for her burial.
